Hampta Pass is one of the most amazing treks for beginners to Himalayan trekking.The pass at an elevation of 14,200 ft has been a very old trade route, connecting Lahaul’s Chandra Valley and Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. The trek also offers a contrast from the lush green valley of Kullu to the dry and arid valley of Spiti.

What is included in the tour

  •  Trek Meals (Breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner) will start from Base Village to Base Village, we provide simple, nutritious Veg/Jain food during the trek.
  • Note - Food Expenses from Jalgaon /Pune /Mumbai/Nasik/Dhule to base village and return from Base village are not covered (meals in Trek are covered eg. Base Camp to Base Camp)
  •   Rucksack (A 60-liter bag with rain cover is provided for use during the trek. You can deposit your extra luggage with your bags at our campsite.)
  •  Camping charges (All Trekking Permits, forest and camping charges are included)
  • Trekking equipment (High quality tents, sleeping bags in all the camps, sleeping bags can withstand temperatures as low as -10℃)

  • Local Transportation of any Kind in Delhi, Manali or any city are not inculded (Tickets of Metro, Rickshaw, City Buses, Cab and other internal transport are not included etc.)
  • Backpack offloading charges, porter Charges for carrying luggage, cost of any type of coolie in whole Journey
  •  Any Personal Expenses
  •  Cost of Emergency (Any type of emergency eg. Medical Emergency or Natural Calamities or Manmade Emergency) The Insurance Can be Claimed afterwards according to the respective insurance company's rules
  • Anything that is not mentioned in Inclusions
  •  If by any reason member needs to Descent in between the trek, in that case Guide Charges and vehicle charges are not covered

Day 1

Departure from Respective Cities

  • (Package is from Jalgaon to Jalgaon so from other Cities Differential Cost will be chargeable)

 

Day 2

Departure for Manali

  • Reach Delhi in the morning (Reaching time depends upon the timing of respected trains or flights)
  • Freshn-up At Hotel, (4 Pax in each room)
  • Departure for Manali via Volvo/Scania, Ac Semi-Sleeper Bus. (Bus Timing depends upon availability)

 

Day 3

Reporting at Base Camp in Rumsu

  • Reporting at Base Camp in Rumsu (6,600 ft)
  • Reach Manali in the morning and travel to Base Village by Jeep/Tata Sumo
  • Reach base camp by 10AM.
  • Freshen Up and Registration on arrival.
  • Acclimatization walks.
  • Orientation for the trek in the evening.
  • Distribution of essential Equipment’s
  • Overnight stay at Rumsu base camp.

 

Day 4

Trek to Chikka

Chikka

  • Ride to Hampta Dam and Trek to Chikka
  • After breakfast we will start the day’s trek with a beautiful drive to the Hampta dam.
  • The trek to Chikka starts from Hampta Dam and is easy. It takes around 3 hours to complete it.
  • There is a small forest patch followed by two wooden bridges before you reach the campsite.
  • Chikka has big rock boulders and a beautiful waterfall and offers an amazing experience of riverside camping.
  • Overnight stay in tents at Chikka.
Day 5

Overnight stay in tents at Balu Ka Ghera Camp.

  •  Chikka to Balu ka Ghera
  • Commence the trek by 7 AM for Balu Ka Ghera camp after breakfast.
  • The initial part of the trek goes through the bank of the river crossing a few rock boulders followed by a river crossing.
  • The trek happens to be a moderate level as it goes above tree line scaling to an altitude of 11,900 feet.
  • Balu ka Ghera is a large plain on the bank of the river and camping at this spot is a dream in reality.
  • One can spot Indrasan, the highest peak of Manali valley from here.
  • Overnight stay in tents at Balu Ka Ghera Camp.
Day 6

Balu Ka Ghera to Shia Goru via Hampta Pass

  • Start early by 4 am for the pass to take advantage of hard snow.
  • The trek starts with a moderate climb for 4 hrs until one reaches the Pass at 14,000 ft.
  • The aerial views of Spiti valley from Hamta Pass are quite breathtaking.
  • The descent from the pass falls steep and takes around 4 hours to reach Shia Goru Camp (12,800 ft).
  • Overnight stay in tents at Shia Goru.

 

Day 7

Jeep Ride for Chandratal.

  • Shia Goru to Chatru
  • The day starts after morning breakfast for Chatru and takes around 3 hours.
  • Once at Chatru, after some hot lunch, continue with a jeep ride(3 hr) for Chandratal.
  • Chandratal at 14,280 feet never fails to impress one from it's stunning beauty and the view of the amazing mountain landscapes surrounding it.
  • Ride back to Chatru for overnight stay..

 

Day 8

Explore Manali Market

Manali Market

  • Chatru to Manali and Departure
  • Start the day in a bit of a relaxed way, for we would be left with just a ride to take us back to Manali.
  • The ride from Chatru to Gramphoo falls off-road followed by the traverse through the famous Atal Tunnel to Manali.
  • You can Explore Manali Market and other places in manali on your own and reach manali bus stand by 7PM
  • Departure for Delhi by 7:30 PM via semi-sleeper AC Volvo/Scania Bus.

 

Day 9

Reaching Delhi and Start Return Journey

  • Reaching Delhi and start return journey to Jalgaon.
  • Reach New Delhi by 10:00 am in the morning
  • Freshn up in AC Lounge at Railway Station in Delhi by own (₹20 per hour)
  • Keep the luggage in clockrooms at railway station by own cost
  • Spend the rest of the day in Delhi. You can explore Dilwalon ki Delhi on your own
  • Board the Train from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station
  • Start the Return Journey towards Jalgaon.

Things To Carry
  • Wet Wipes and Paper Soap
  • Trekking shoes: Carry waterproof trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support. Do not carry sports shoes.
  • Three layers of warm clothes: Carry two or three-layer jackets, fleece jackets and a padded jacket.
  • Two/Three trek pants: Carry quick dry material trek pants & one warm paded trouser
  • Denim/jeans and shorts are not suitable for trekking.
  • Three t-shirts (collared/dri-fit): Full sleeved t-shirts that prevent sun burns on the neck and arms. Carry one or two dri-fit t-shirts.
  • Thermals: Carry thermals (top and bottom).
  • Sunglasses: Sunglasses are mandatory. Possibly there will be a lot of snow on the trek and can cause snow blindness.
  • Cap: At high altitude, the sun is extra harsh so carry a cap to protect yourself.
  • Water proof hand gloves: Carry water proof gloves and avoid woollen gloves as they will get wet if you touch snow.
  • Socks (3-4 pairs) and a pair of woollen socks: Apart from two sports socks, you can take a pair of woollen socks for the night.
  • Headlamp/LED torch: Mandatory
  • Raincoat/Ponchos: At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are quite common and it’s mandatory to carry a poncho so that you don’t get wet. The trek will continue as planned even during rainfall. Your poncho should protect you from the rain. Carry a backpack cover for extra protection from rain for your belongings.
  • Day pack (20 litres): You will need this to carry water bottles, lunch boxes, and personal medical kit in case you decide to offload your backpack.
  • Lunch box and water bottle: Every participant should have their personal lunch box and a water bottle [insulated type].
