Overview
  • Ratan means Jewel in Hindi. This hill fort is the jewel in all the hill forts here in Sahyadri. It is located in the Ahmednagar district, about 4255 feet above sea level.
  • It lies in the Ajoba mountain range, surrounded by the great mountains of Kulang, Alang, Kalsubai, Katarabai, Ajoba, and Ghanchakkar.
  • Geographically Ratangad is at the banks of Bhandardara lake of Ahmednagar district.
  • With views of the lake and the highest mountains, Sahyadris looks lost in time. At the base of this fort is the ancient Lord Shiva Amruteshwar temple. About 1000 years old temple of Lord Shiva, the Amruteshwar Temple at Ratanwadi, is an absolute pinnacle of the high-class architecture of our ancestors.

> Start from Opposite of Bhaunche Udyaan's Main Entry Gate, DSP Chowk, Jalgaon

Trekking to Ratangad

> Reach base village approx around 6:00 am (Sunday, 5th Oct 2025)

> Get freshen up

> Morning tea and breakfast on arrival☕🥙🥘

> Get ready by 6:50 am for Ratangad Trek.

> Start the trek

> Reaching top for a breath - taking view and thrilling experience. Spend some quality time admiring the beauty of nature and the creation of this amazing fort

> Start return journey towards Base Village

> Enjoy Home-Cooked Afternoon Lunch from Village (Veg)  🍲🍛

> Start return journey towards Jalgaon after lunch.

> Evening tea would be provided on the way to Jalgaon 

> Halt For Dinner (Dinner by own cost)

> Return to JALGAON by Late Night of Sunday (Time to reach jalgaon depends upon real-time situations, for example - Actual time taken by participants to complete the trek, Traffic conditions, etc.)
